The Palace Isn't Safe!

The year is 198 AD. Septimus Severus, the Roman Emperor, is in the third year of his campaign to conquer Parthia. Vologases V, the Parthian King of Kings, has lost many territories and cities during this time. But today he suffered his biggest defeat on the outskirts of Ctesiphon, the capital of his empire. As he flees the battlefield, Septimus marches to sack the city.

Whether by birth or circumstance, you find yourself in Ctesiphon on the day of the attack. The sounds of struggle and screams of fear come from all directions, as the Romans find little resistance. As you take in your chaotic surroundings, one thing is clear: you need to escape. The alternative is slavery. Or death.
